Giorgetti responds to Salvini: "The situation regarding income tax cuts and tax relief is complicated."

"What Salvini calls the scrapping of tax bills " and the reduction of "tax rates" for the "middle class" constitute a "framework on which there was certainty," and which "I say very frankly, has become somewhat complicated with all the events that have erupted internationally and which are beyond the government's control." These were the words of Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti , speaking during a campaign meeting for the Lega Valle d'Aosta ahead of the regional elections on September 28.
"On the one hand," Giorgetti explained, "the war in Ukraine, the direct and indirect consequences of this war in Ukraine. Because indirectly, you think that the entire wave of inflation we've experienced in recent years is actually energy price inflation and therefore directly related to what happened in Ukraine: recovering gas or other energy sources will be much more expensive. Or directly, because at this point, there are even those in the international coalition who want to send soldiers to the field for Ukraine—which is not our case—but financial aid is financial aid that each country will have to pay in some way. So inevitably, this will also have an impact."
The minister added: “At the same time, we launched—and this is certainly something that has tangibly affected many categories of self-employed workers—the flat tax up to 85,000 euros.”
In recent days, the League leader had pressed his government allies, emphasizing that the League's definitive scrapping of tax bills "will certainly be a priority."
